At this point the Swallow-tailed Kites in Gladys have to be the most
photographed birds in VA. Now I have my humble shots of them too. I also got
some photos of the MIKI's there and some long shots of the Avocets over at the
Crewes Channel area.

Hope all came through Irene safely. We were fine here in SoBo excepting for
myself coming down with some kind of gastroenteritis which was not hurricane
related.
And very special thanks to Paul Glass for calling me from Staunton View Public
Use Area and telling me there was an American Golden-plover there. (I had
Pacific GP, but still not American). I drove my poorly feeling self over there
(about 35 miles), walked down and looked through his scope for a nice look at
the bird, then drove home and went to bed for the rest of the afternoon!
