Hello everyone!
Computer system was down for a while so I'm catching up.
I want to thank several members of the Williamsburg Bird Club for sharing the
location of Warblers at Hog Island WMA, Sunday, a week ago. Unfortunately, my
photo skills did not match their ability to locate the birds. I did get
several images of a Magnolia Warbler but they were lost during my editing
process. I also got the chance to say hello to Barbara Houston again. Great
trip and photos from your Eastern Shore visit!
I visited Dutch Gap Conservation Area, entrance to James River NWR (off Route
10, east of the City of Hopewell) and the Fish Hatchery and Lake off Route 5 in
Charles City County on Friday. Birds were a bit scarce until I got to the
Hatchery. At the Hatchery I saw Ruby-Crowned Kinglet, Palm Warbler, Eastern
Phoebe, Eastern Bluebirds, Song , Chipping and Field Sparrows and two adult
male and female Pileated Woodpeckers. Ms Pileated Woodpecker was kind enough
to give me a photo. For those who care to have a look, here is the link.
