This morning I stopped at Sandy Bottom Park and surprised to find a Least
Sandpiper. This is an unusual species for this location. There is a good
bit of construction ongoing, and many of the swampy areas have been mowed
and are being tilled. The Least Sandpiper was with a Spotted Sandpiper in
the rows of overturned mud. There were also good numbers of Blue Grosbeaks
and Indigo Buntings in the back marsh. Another surprising find was a
Prothonotary Warbler still hanging around the area.
