Below is link to web site with picture of the American Golden (??) Plover
taken on 8/29/03 at Leonard's Pond in Rockingham County.
Sorry for poor quality but Mother Nature was not cooperative with passing
thunderstorm, very low light and wind.
Question is whether this is in fact an American Golden Plover. Hopefully
someone will be able to determine color of underside of wings. We saw it
in flight as it circled overhead but I could not swear the pale underwings
were white or silvery gray due to poor lighting and silhouette effect.
