Yesterday evening there was a Leucistic (I hope that is the right term)
DARK-EYED JUNCO at the Raven's Roost overlook along the Blue Ridge Parkway in
Augusta/Nelson County. The bird remained in the area for quite awhile and was
not shy about people nearby. This is a popular overlook and if he is a regular
there he probably sees a lot of folks. His head was almost entirely white
except for a streak along the top of the head. White extended part of the way
into the neak/chest. He was noticeably larger (more "plump") than other juncos
at the overlook.
