Hey everybody,
We have indeed had some good results from our Rusty Blackbird search, but let's not rest on our laurels. We've got ten days to go before March is finished. And this weekend looks to be a spectacular time to look hard for Rusties. They should be really noisy, squeaking while they're out there flipping those leaves. Check out all those wet woodsy areas they typically inhabit. Get a couple of friends together and do a mini-Blitz. The particular habitat they like is also good for spring migrants which you could pick up at the same time.
Remember that to be incorporated into the data set for the Rusty Blackbird Spring Migration Blitz, your sightings (or lack of them) must be entered into eBird. If you're not currently an eBird person, this would be a great time to set up an account and get rolling. If you're just not up to it at present, please find someone who is currently using eBird and ask them to enter the data. But really, it's easier just to get an account and do it yourself. Let me know if you need any help with eBird.
    Go get them Rusties.
