I was birding at the stream near my house in south Arlington, which runs
between Edgewood and Barton Street a few blocks south of Columbia Pike, one
block east of Walter Reed, and on my second pass of the stream itself I
finally found a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH, a bird I'd been hoping for there all
spring. Other birds of note included a PALM WARBLER (possibly more than
one) and a PHOEBE up in the canopy along the path south of the stream. I
also saw the SWAMP SPARROW that has been hanging out by the community pool
on the other side of Barton Street. This bird has been hanging out by the
sodden grass next to the pool, down the asphalt driveway.
