I did my monthly five-mile walk around the Noland Trail of the Mariner's Museum
Park in Newport News today. Highlights: a Black-and-White Warbler
(great-looking individual) and a Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher. Also, three species of
Nuthatch was nice, lots of big blackbird/robin/waxwing flocks, plus decent
numbers of Hooded Mergansers and Pied-Billed Grebes for the lake. Still
waiting for the Ring-Necked Duck numbers of last winter, surprised not to find
any today.
