I went to several places on the birding trail in Mathews today. I
started at Bethel Beach. The first thing I saw as I drove up was a huge
mature Bald eagle perched on one of the beach trees. The tide was way
low and the wind was blowing offshore, so the water level was really
low. Not much activity, but the birds that were there were not shy and
let me get some up close pictures. The past couple storms have really
eaten away at the beachfront on the far side of the beach. It was much
narrower than the past visit several months ago. Also visited were
Winter Harbor, Horn Harbor, New Point wharf, and New Point Comfort.
