There were only three birders on this morning's Prince William Conservation
Alliance Merrimac Farm birdwalk, but we had some excellent sightings and
generally a very pleasant walk. Among our highlights was a Common Raven, the
song of an Eastern Meadowlark coming from one of the surrounding farm fields,
and a pair of Red-breasted Nuthatches. There was at least one pair of Wood
Ducks in the Cedar Run stream which runs through the Area, and several
Golden-crowned Kinglets flitting through the trees.
