I saw a Mississippi Kite at about 9 am this morning, while walking the Lake
Accotink trail. The bird was about 500 feet up, flying due west parallel to
(and just south of) Braddock Road - seemed to be heading to about where it
nested last year.
Otherwise an extremely slow morning, except for zillions of Cedar Waxwings
and Acadian F/Cs. One pair of Canada Geese was looking after 23 goslings.
And one female Wood Duck had 4 ducklings in tow.
