Virginia Birders
The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries is conducting a
Mute Swan survey during the months of September and October. This is a
coordinated survey conducted every 3 years by all the states in the
Atlantic Flyway (East Coast) to assess mute swan numbers and
distribution. You can help contribute to this survey by reporting the
location of any mute swans you observe. Please send any observations to
the survey coordinator, Gary Costanzo, at
gary.costanzo@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Include the number of adult and
juvenile swans observed along with a good description of where they were
seen, including county and nearest city, and latitude longitude
coordinates if available. VDGIF appreciates any assistance you can
provide with this survey
