Having been skunked with no birds at all last night, I was pleased to find a
big bunch of nighthawks tonight. The lights were on when I arrived at about
9 tonight. if they went on at 8, then they had been on for an hour before I
got there. I care about this as I have observed that birds tend to be quite
low as soon as the lights come on,and then get higher as time passes.
At 9 tonight, there were 15-20 birds flying and feeding fairly low, and
many more much higher up; perhaps 40, or more, in all. Hopefully tomorrow
will be good, or better, as well. I am still waiting for some really
blockbuster nights with 50 or more birds.
Stayed tuned.
