Aside from a flock of twelve Pine Siskins and a Merlin flyover, Claytor
Lake was pretty quiet yesterday (Monday, 10/27/2008). Despite almost
constant surveillance between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM from the gazebo and
several checks from other points of view, the Brown Booby did not
appear.
Other species of interest were 200+ Amercican Coot, about 40 Lesser
Scaup, a few Gadwall, eight Ring-billed Gull and a single Bonaparte's
Gull. Pied-billed Grebe were everywhere.
