A total of 10 people participated in the Northern Virginia Bird Club's trip
this morning to the Meadowood Recreation Area, led by Gary Myers and myself.
Meadowood is an 800-acre Bureau of Land Management holding on Mason Neck in
Fairfax County. Warblers seemed hard to come by, notwithstanding seemingly
ideal conditions. Nonetheless, everyone got great views of a colorful cast of
characters, including Baltimore & Orchard Orioles, Blue Grosbeak, Indigo
Buntings, scads of Scarlet Tanagers (we could not relocate any of the 3 Summer
Tanagers that I saw on a scouting mission yesterday), and Eastern Meadowlarks.
