I spent some time this morning kayaking into some of the deeper parts of
Lee Hall reservoir and flushed a total of 27 Wood Ducks. A pair of Mute
Swans with a fairly young juvenile was also found in the back part of the
reservoir. It was nice to come across 4 Green Herons which I haven't found in
typical numbers at this location this year. Prothonotary Warblers and
Eastern Kingbirds were the most vocal this morning. A lone Bald Eagle looking
ragged due to some missing tail feathers was seen flying away with his
catch of the day.
