Hello all,
A brief family outing to the park at sunset yielded the following species
(seen from Picnic Area 2 and the trail that crosses a wetland via boardwalk
and continues along the lakeshore to a playground):
Canada Goose-14
Mallard-8
American Black Duck-1 adult male (beautiful, a first for me for Virginia)
Pied-billed Grebe-1
Great Blue Heron-1 (standing still and relatively close to the boardwalk)
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker-1
Red-headed Woodpecker-1 (another state first for me)
