I went to the stone bridge over Hunting Creek (on the GW Parkway) near Belle
Haven/Dyke Marsh about 2 hours prior to low tide this afternoon. After
searching both sides of the bridge I then went over to the walking entrance to
Jones Point Park to observe the mud flats from the pier just off the parking
area. I did not find the Marbled Godwit reported yesterday. Shorebirds included
Greater & Lesser Yellowlegs, Semi-palmated SP, Least SP, and one Semi-palmated
Plover. Other birds of note were a single Great Black-backed Gull and a single
Lesser Scaup.
