Greetings to all:
I spent a good part of the day nearly 7.5 hrs looking for Rusty Blackbirds
today, checking all of the best locations that I have seen them at in the
past.
I went down Wolf Trap Rd and onto Banister River WMA, and then down
Falkland Farm Rd returned to Coleman Rd and to Scottsburg. I then went to
Staunton River Battlefield State Park and checked the trail to Randalph,
behind the visitor center and then the duck ponds down the road. I came
across two large flocks of Common Grackles, a few RW Blackbirds and about 10
BH Cowbirds but not a single Rusty anywhere.
At Staunton River Battlefield State Park, I saw two Bald Eagles (1 Adult, 1
Juvenile), RT Hawk, RN Ducks, Gadwalls, Black Duck, Wood Duck and GB Heron.
At the Clover Power Plant cooling pond there was still 2 Common Mergansers.
May the LORD Bless and Keep you
