Saturday
Wood Ducks multiple locations on Saturday and Sunday; clearly pushing
through
Common Raven flying over Laurel Crest Golf Course, just east of Furnace Rd
(a good Am. Woodcock spot by the way). This location is about a mile from
the Vulcan Quarry.
Wild Turkey flies east to west across Rt 123 (Ox Rd) in front of my car to
quickly & close for me to consider swerving; a near-suicidal tom
Brown Creeper and Chipping Sparrow along Possum Pt Rd
Rusty Blackbirds singing south side of Quantico Creek wetlands
Sunday
2 Tundra Swan in the tidal creek north of Crow's Nest (Stafford Co, not too
many left in the area!); also 2 Mute Swans off Aquia Landing SP
90 Northern Pintail in Quantico Creek wetlands
Adult Lesser Black-backed Gull at the Prince William Co. Landfill and about
6 Bald Eagles; at least 4 adults
If you lost an American Coot, take a look near Aquia Landing SP, about 1500
loitering there
22 Tree Swallows near the north edge of Neabsco Creek
3 Stops along Joplin Rd at turn outs and in the Chopawamsic Back Country
spur produce 2 Pine Warblers, one sang for me
