I know some folks don’t like “continuing bird not seen” postings, but I
thought I’d share this in case some people found it useful.
I was at Albemarle Co. Comm. Park this morning to look for the continuing
clay-colored sparrow, and I was joined for some of the time by Guy and
Susan Babineau, as well as Janet Paisley. We walked back behind the soccer
field to check the brambles thoroughly, and birded the other areas, all to
no avail.
Towards the end of the visit, all of the white-crowned sparrows and others
loosely flocking with them came out of the woodwork onto the path to feed,
but even then no clay-colored appeared.
