I went down to Spruce Creek Park and the Rockfish Valley Trail System this
morning, hoping for some interesting migrants. Shortly after 7:00am I ran
across a large flock of approximately 45 Orchard Orioles. These are the first
Orioles of the season for the park. Later, by the big wooden bridge, near the
warm season grasses, a male and a female Bobwhite let me get very close for
photographs. This pair has been very cooperative, for the last couple days.
