The Northern Shenandoah Valley CBC will be on Saturday, Dec 19, 2015. If you
would like to participate please contact Charlie Hagan at naturetrekr@xxxxxxxxx
Some years we get a good invasion of northern Black-capped Chickadees into the
Shenandoah Valley (50% plus at many feeders). This year there has essentially
been no migration south. We have not seen any and none have been reported to us
from the local people who know them well. When there are no Black-capped
Chickadees in the Shenandoah Valley and I would suggest to CBC compilers that
any BCCH that is reported in the low elevation valleys or east of the Blue
Ridge would require a rare bird form. If folks can get a photo I would love to
have a look if you could send it along. Normally if we are going to get the
species they would be here in good numbers before now. Best to everyone - Rob
