7 male Purple Finches appeared at my backyard feeder in Vienna this
morning, later I found 2 more males with a female around trail marker 4.5
of Difficult Run Stream Park accessed by Miller Heights Rd. in Oakton.
Difficult Run also had a Ruby-crowned Kinglet and E.Phoebe.

Also checked out the pines between Flint HIll High School and the Oak Mar
driving range (red trail) and found a Red-breasted Nuthatch, Golden-crowned
Kinglet, and a fly-over Broad-winged Hawk. I thought I heard both a Pine
Warbler and Chipping Sparrows, which sound similar to me, so I need to
brush up on these calls.

Good birding,
Daniel Lebbin
