[Va-bird] Occoquan NWR, 9/13

The Audubon Society of Northern Virginia sponsored a field trip to Occoquan Bay 
NWR this morning.  It was very humid and quite warm, with little evidence of 
migrants.  (We need another cold front).  Nevertheless, we had an enjoyable 
walk and saw 54 species (including several seen just before and after the 
walk).  Highlights were numerous white-eyed vireos, warbling vireo, blue 
grosbeak, phoebe, Traill's-type flycatcher, great-crested flycatcher, magnolia 
warbler, palm warbler, and merlin (seen as I was leaving).  Catbirds and 
mockingbirds were notably common.
