I thought I posted this earlier but don't see on VA-bird so I am resending.
All,
Birded Augusta and Rockingham County today. Best bird was Painted Bunting
which continues to be seen at 59 River Circle Verona Va.
The Common Goldeneye continues at Lake Shenandoah and Lake Campbell or (
Massenuten Lake) was good for a single Canvassback and at least 3 Redheads.
As the day dimmed and the rain poured a bird was sighted flying low over the
fields surrounding Bells Lane that was in many ways suggestive of a
Short-eared Owl but my glasses were covered with rain and the light -
wasn't- so it might have been just about anything.
