I decided to NOT go out birding today because I just didn't want to hassle with
Sunday-before-Christmas traffic and crowds. I'm so glad I stayed home, because
I've seen two new yard birds at my backyard feeders -- a female-plumaged
Painted Bunting, and a gorgeous White-winged Dove (also a state bird for me)! I
did my best to get photos through the dirty garage window: they're posted on

There's still 3 hours of daylight: we'll see if the storm brought in anything
else new!
