A very birdy morning with my friend Connie. We had to cut our outing short to
make it to another engagement. We birded the n. side of the property from 7 -
9:45am.
Highlights:
Great looks at a COOPER'S HAWK. At one point it flew right over our heads when
it was going after songbirds.
Sparrows abundant - 9 species. WHITE-THROATED (50+) and SONG (30+) most
common. Also SWAMP 6, FIELD, 6, SAVANNAH 6, WHITE-CROWNED 3 imm and 1 ad.,
TOWHEE 3, JUNCO 3 and CHIPPING 1.
E. MEADOWLARK, 1
ROBIN, YEL.-RUMPED WARBLER and GOLDFINCHES common
PURPLE FINCH, 2
PINE SISKIN, 1. Heard only.
Other migrants: Flicker, Phoebe, Blue Jay, House Wren, both Kinglets, Yellow
Palm Warbler.
