The Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy sponsored a birding trip by car in the
southwestern part of the county today. We (8 people) started in Philomont &
followed country roads almost to Upperville where we returned to Philomont.
The highlights of the trip included 3 brown PURPLE FINCHES, a FOS (for most of
us) Dark-eyed Junco (1), a Blue-headed Vireo, 2 Palm Warblers (one still in
breeding plumage), lots of both kinglets, and 2 Eastern Phoebes.
