At my urging, Ashley Peele has agreed to do one of her more comprehensive
Breeding Bird Atlas training sessions on either June 10 or 17 somewhere in the
Roanoke/Franklin/Bedford County areas if there is enough interest. This
workshop would consist of morning walks led by experienced Atlas volunteers
followed by a group session on data entry, priority species, mapping, etc.,
with time for any questions you may have. Expect the workshop to last from
around 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with refreshments provided.
If you might be interested in participating in such a training session, please
email me at twoquinns@xxxxxxxxx by May 15 so I can let Ashley know there is
enough interest for her to schedule the workshop. Also let me know which of
the above mentioned date(s) you are available. Location is yet to be
determined, but if you know of a place with wifi and good opportunities for
bird walks in the counties listed, let me know that, too, and I'll pass the
information along to Ashley.
And if you're wondering why I'm writing this instead of Ashley, she's super
busy right now and asked me to put out the initial feeler for her.
