I checked on the ducks on the Potomac between Alexandria and Mount Vernon
this afternoon, stopping at Waynewood, Vernon View, Riverside and eventually
Bellehaven.
I found several mixed rafts of Lesser Scaup, Ring-necked, Canvasbacks,
Redheads, and Ruddies. Also a few Bufflehead and at Bellehaven three female
Mergansers, two Red-breasted and one Common, swimming together.
