This morning (Monday) I had a male Purple Finch at the feeder. First one
this season. And today was the second time ever to have a female Red-wing
in the yard. She stayed around for a half hour or more. No other Red-wings
showed up. Some of the Goldfinches are getting new black and gold feathers.
The lone Pine Siskin is still hanging around.
Today my husband and I cleared out, patched and/or painted all the bird
houses, and cleaned feeders and birdbaths. So let the nesting begin!
