All – I joined the pilgrimage to Waynesboro to see the gallinule this morning.
I arrived around 9am and didn’t see the bird. So after a few minutes, I
wandered down the paved trail looking for another place to access the creek. A
little ways down the trail is a black fence with an “Appalachian Long Distance
Hikers Pavilion” sign on it. I followed the sign and a dirt path and came to a
narrow, wooden footbridge across the outflow of the spring. The PUGA was in
the creek at that location. I had very good views of it as it foraged on
snails, bugs, and greens along the banks of the stream. I was able to take
