It was a great Purple Martin Festival in downtown Richmond, VA Shockhoe Bottom neighborhood by the 17th Street Farmers Market. and the birds were right on time. We had a large and happy crowd, a great juggler, cool gelato, and informative booths from local organizations to educate you and answer questions.

If you missed it it is not too late - the birds will still be roosting on 18th Street pear trees by the parking lots for at least this month of August. They are getting fat and ready to make that long trek to South America. Check out the coupons for local businesses (GOOD FOR THE MONTH) on our website and take an evening and bring your family to see this awesome sight and have a delicious dinner or drink. They land starting at 8:15 and the tens of thousands of birds are all in those few Bartlett Pear trees by 8:30PM. www.gonetothebirdsrva.com
