I have not yet hosted any of the oft-reported pine siskins, but I was very
pleased to have a red-breasted nuthatch at my feeders today as a regular
visitor. Although this delicate bird was generally as quick as lightning, I was
fortunate to have it "pose" for me. I suspect the birds sensed a predator,
because
all my feeder birds froze for several minutes, allowing me to take multiple
photographs.
