It was a gray day, with quite a bit of rain but there was a lot of activity on
the beach road of the reserve.

Reddish Egret (Egretta rufescens) 1 This bird was seen across the road
from the Tom's Cove visitor center, and across the water from a small pull-off
area. It was sitting in a tree and preening. It was a dark morph adult bird
seen full size with binoculars and a spotting scope. A small number of
pictures were taken with a handheld digital camera, through the scope and
without the scope.
