Hi all,Reddish/Bother Knob areas were quite birdy this morning. We encountered
two large warbler flocks (including Tennessee, Black-and-white, C.
Yellowthroat, Redstart, Cape May, Magnolia, Bay-breasted, Chestnut-sided,
Blackpoll, BT Blue, Palm, Pine, Yellow-rumped, BT Green, and highlighted by a
Mourning in Augusta Co. about halfway from Briery Branch Gap to the summit of
Reddish Knob). Another highlight bird was a female Summer Tanager in Augusta
Co. in the same general area as the Mourning Warbler. In Rockingham Co. along
FR 85 between Briery Branch Gap and Bother Knob we heard Red Crossbills
vocalizing in multiple locations and briefly sighted two individuals.
On our way home we found the Baird's, Pectoral, and Spotted Sandpipers at
Nazarene Church Rd Wetlands in Rockingham, as well as a Wilson's Snipe at the
Oakwood Dr Pond.
