Greetings all.
This email is to remind birders about the countable rules of the ABA of
released bird by humans.
To actually count the bird for your life list the bird once released the bird
must fly and land at its first perch and at this time it is NOT countable.
Once it leaves its first perch it is now flying off on its own unassisted by
humans and at this point it is countable.
This rule applies to all birds handled by humans either released back into the
wild after capture for treatment or for banding.
