I was driving up to Gordonsville on Saturday afternoon about 3pm, quite
honestly not really paying a great deal of attention to the world. Good
music, sunny afternoon, headed to the winery to meet some friends...you
know how this goes from here!
About 2 miles north of Boswell's Tavern on US 15 an adult bald eagle
flew across the road at just above Prius height and I was like the dog
in "UP" SQUIRREL!! Then I realized the mailman was parked in the road
right in front of me. Thankfully the anti-lock brakes were working on
Saturday.
So...notes to self...birding by windshield can be hazardous and you need
to remember that eagles are everywhere this time of year!!
