Oct 10, Monday, 6:50 - 8PM, "Rainforest conservation: practical
approaches from Chucanti, a cloud forest in Panama", presented by Guido
Berguido. He is a phenomenal person with a wealth of experience and
information to share about the birds of Panama and a personal project of
his in a part of Panama named Chucanti. It is a moving tribute on the
power of just 1 or 2 people to make a difference in the world of
conservation.
Guido C. Berguido is native to Panama City, Panama. He has a degree in
Biology from the University of Panama and is a Certified Interpretive
Guide through the National Association for Interpretation (NAI) in the
USA. For more than 15 years, he has lead nature and birdwatching tours
for the most important tour operators of the region and has been
committed with environmental education and conservation activities with
the Smithsonian Institution and the Panama Audubon Society. Moreover he
has been instrumental in the creation of the Chucanti Private Nature
Reserve in one of Panama�s most critical Important Bird Areas.
