Hello Birders,
Over the past week or so gull numbers have begun to build in the
Richmond area. While there have been no unusual species, there has
been some diversity. Good numbers of Laughing Gull have been "loafing"
around the Nickel Bridge, with around 250+ birds. Associating with
these birds are small numbers of Herring, Ring-billed and Greater
Black-backed gulls. I have also started to see a similar mix of birds
downtown form the Floodwall. Today was the first time (this fall) I
have seen any gulls at the Innsbrook lake in the west end (Henrico
Co.); Some Herring, Greaters, and Ring-billed. Also this week at
Innsbrook there has been 2 Ruddys and 2 Ring-necked Duck.
