My group of 4 covered Riverbend Park along the Potomac from the Visitors'
Center south to the Wendt Pl. picnic area as well as the meadow tallying 58
species from 7AM to 10:15 AM and then my nearby backyard until Noon, adding
another 10 species, for a total of 68 species. Highlights were 15 warbler
species, lingering purple finches and the one and only Pine Siskin I've had in
my
yard this year. Those with a single * are the ten species only seen in my
yard, the two with a ** were reported to us by the Riverbend Park naturalist
who
led a birdwalk this morning.
