Weather:
Rockfish Gap had fog early, not covering the roads but hugging the ridge.
The east was somewhat clear, but the west was dark with low cloud cover.
Fog was moving through the gap for several hours from the west. Things
cleared somewhat for a couple hours but with few birds. Then the light
winds shifted at noon to come from the southeast and in a short while more
fog arrived. One could see low to the east and west much of the time, but a
couple times the fog closed the view. Birds just were just not flying.
