Weather:
Warm day 20.7-27.6C. A little fog early, which quickly dissipated. Strong W
winds from 9am-noon brought in good raptors, but when the winds dropped to
slight SE breezes after noon, the raptor flight diminished. Clear blue sky
with no clouds from 9am-noon and then nice 20-50% cloud cover after noon.
Lots of haze and a little fog kept visibility to <5km early, which improved
hourly.
Raptor Observations:
97 raptors between 9am-noon and only 35 between 12-3pm. Four adult Bald
Eagles at 11:10 (2), 12:30, 1:30. Three immature Northern Harriers between
12-1pm.
Non-raptor Observations:
Many Monarchs today (200 at least). Lots of warblers flying over early. 18
Chimney Swift, 6 Red-headed Woodpecker.
