Visitors:
Wonderful help today from Allen, Robin, Lupin, Dillard, Phillip and his
wife, Bill and Katie, MaryLou and her husband, and Rocky. Several people
stopped by the watch. Had a nice conversation with a gentleman from the
Netherlands.
Weather:
Day started with the western valley socked in and heavy haze on Carl's
side. However, it was clear above. Both valleys were clear by noon.
Afternoon ended partly cloudy with a final stray shower. Temps were 67-78F.
Humidity was high. Winds started in W and ended easterly with speeds of 0-1
with occasional 2.
Raptor Observations:
Most birds had good altitude today and were found on both sides of the
watch. First bird was an osprey to the west at 10am. Last bird was an IBE
at 2:15pm high and distant on the eastern side.
Non-raptor Observations:
Hundreds of blue jays and monarchs today. A yellow-billed cuckoo was also
seen.
Predictions:
Chance of showers then scattered thunderstorms. What a shock.
