Observers:
Weather:
Completely socked in with dense fog until 9:50. Gradual lift with east
side completely socked in until about 45 minutes later and more open to the
west. Finally cleared by 11am EST.
Increasing clouds throughout the day with dark gray clouds moving up from
SE. Few sprinkles by 2:36pm EST. Light SE winds throughout the day with
continuing mild temps 24.2c>28c<27.3c; Humidity: 85%<74%.
Raptor Observations:
A pretty slow day. Most birds were to the west during the morning and then
shifting more to overhead and east side of the ridge. Two Broad-Wings flew
in together, sailing high heading south. Low and fairly close Merlin over
the parking lot. Two Bald Eagle, distant adult out to the west at 11:04
and a 3rd year directly overhead at 1:43. Last bird was high sailing
Red-Tailed heading straight down the ridge.
Non-raptor Observations:
Blue Jay - 16; Chimney Swift-17; Monarch Butterfly-26; Red Admiral
Butterfly - 7 all sailing southward!
The yearling black bear was foraging out in the open around rock pile 2
where the old Tepees use to be.
Was buzzed by hovering drone directly over site. Very annoying!
