Mostly sunny day with strong WNW winds. 10.2-14.2C. Clear visibility.
Raptor Observations:
Some comments from Rose: Birds were busy today. Only the first and last
hours were somewhat slow. Several CHs and SSs came in close for good looks.
The eagles were fairly high and/or distant. It was good to have the extra
eyes as the birds would appear in groups and quickly go up then down and
back up. Several birds came low, to the right of the Inn. Hourly SS count:
9 (8-9), 38 (9-10), 40 (10-11), 37 (11-12), 59 (12-1), 26 (1-2), 4 (2-3).
An immature Golden Eagle at 12:35pm. Eight Bald Eagles: 5 adults (10:25,
11:35, 11:55, 12:10, 2:43) and 3 immatures (12:10 3YR, 1:03 3YR, 1:13 1YR).
