A terrific hawk-watching day with super clouds and winds. Very strong W

diminishing gradually to 40% at 3pm. Clear visibility.
Raptor Observations:
The raptors kept us busy today; having 12 different species including all 3
falcons, all 3 accipiters, and both eagles! Constant flow of accipiters
coming in from the NE fighting the west winds before eventually shooting
across the gap to the south. An immature Northern Goshawk flew down the
west side of the gap at 1:40pm. An immature Golden Eagle at 12:25pm. Five

Non-raptor Observations:
21 Monarchs. 1 Chimney Swift, 112 Fish Crow, 7 Raven, 2 Tree Swallow, 288
American Robin, 1 Cape May Warbler, and an unknown shorebird.
