Visitors:
Matt Hosmer, a counter at the Harvey's Knob Hawk Watch, spent most of the
day at our site today and was a big help with covering that big, blue sky.

Harrell of Richmond and Mary Mapel.
Weather:
Fairly pleasant, albeit slightly chilly, 2.2-8.3C with mild SE Breezes.
Another blue sky day with little to no clouds. Some haze to west and east.
Raptor Observations:
Fairly slow with a few Accipiters and Red-tails plus three afternoon Bald
Eagles (1:25 adult, 2:28 immature, and 2:39 adult) and a midday adult
Red-shouldered Hawk which gave a nice flyby down the east side of the gap.
First Bird-8:25 RT Pair, Last Bird-3:09 CH.
Non-raptor Observations:
Another day with plenty of Crows (78 Fish plus 61 additional Crows, unknown
species, likely also Fish, flying southeast through the gap in addition to
the resident American Crows). Other non-raptors seen flying over included
30 Robins, 70 Waxwings, 4 Horned Larks, and 3 Red-winged Blackbirds.
Ravens around throughout the day, as usual, including one that flew by low
and close giving good views as it was carrying a hot dog in bun.
Predictions:
Warmer, more clouds, and Southwesterly winds.
