Taking advantage of the rains that have moved in and shut down the hawk
watch for at least the remainder of today, I've been able to upload a few
images taken yesterday as the hawks zipped past us. During the first hour,
the wind was barreling across from the west and the broad-wings were coming
in fast and furious, some trying to steer in another direction, oftentimes
coming in close and all personal like. Fast moving birds being blown about
in the brisk winds made for difficult subjects to photograph but I managed
to capture a few.

We were hopefully this adult female Northern Harrier was going to fly right
at us near eye level but the winds steered her a bit more west and she
quickly gained more altitude. However, we were still able to the facial
features -
